23 Ways To Turn Older

1. Commence your first celebration at Loft the weekend before in SJ with awesome people in the Bay. Forget how you got home the next day but manage to have a great night from what you can remember.

2. Have dinner at Tsuruhashi - Japanese BBQ - on Thursday night with Howard and Ju. Comments on Yelp really over-hype the place but it’s not too bad. Portions definitely not big enough, though.

3. Start pre-partying in your apartment with the MOST FABULOUS birthday present your roommate could ever give you:

(Anejo Patron, Reposado Patron, Silver Patron, and a mother-effing FLASK.)

4. Take 5 shots of Reposado Patron due to peer pressure and excuses like it being your birthday.

5. Head to PB for some good Thursday night partying.

6. Take 4 more shots of Patron and sample various other drinks, followed by dancing with the girrrls.

(Couldn’t find one with everyone boo.)

7. Head to Roberto’s (because it’s your idea) and wind up only eating one bite and looking like this:

8. End up sitting outside on the curb because you need fresh air and complaining about going home.

9. Wake up the next day with your friends telling you horrible stories about you giggling like a maniac all night and not remembering a single damn thing.

10. Drive with Michele, Ju, and Iris to celebrate with Jenn the Prettiful in LA for combined birthday extravaganzas.

11. Eat dinner at Cham Sut Gol even though Tahoe is better :) - but still so yummy. Eat like five cows worth of meat.

12. Have a quiet evening with friends over an incomplete dog puzzle (because some people are losers and don’t have the skills), random TV shows, and lots of sardine spooning.

13. Eat lunch on Saturday at Daikokuya after waiting 45 minutes and keeping lookout for the dreaded Traffic Police. Gotta be quick with the quarters, yo.

14. Eat Pinkberry. It doesn’t need a link because if you don’t know about Pinkberry, then you are not worthy.

15. Lounge around at Jenn’s apartment and bother the hell out of Ju who just wanted some quiet alone time. Not gonna happen.

16. Pre-party at Jenn’s with her coworkers and Claremont friends in your sluttiest quite revealing successful ultimate clubbing gear (Vegas style, baby).

17. Have somebody sweet talk your way into Boulevard3 with about 20 people.

18. Enjoy your nicest California club you’ve seen yet. Open area, raised dance floor, and glowing setting - WITH places to sit if necessary. And oh do they become necessary later in the evening.

19. Forget you didn’t have dinner and wonder why you’re drunk after 5 drinks when you had 9+ two days ago.

20. Have your sober friends despise you for being drunk and needing to take care of all your embarrassing actions.

21. Grab late night grub at BCD to relieve needs of drunken eating.

22. Wake up the next morning to discover an expanding huge bruise on your right knee, another on your left hip, and another on your right tricep area. Apparently you had fallen off the dance floor last night and dragged Jenn down with you. Alongside that, you had highly embarrassed Michele and Ju who immediately picked you up (despite thoughts of being perfectly fine and sober), gathered your lost shoe, and sat you down outside where nobody could find and recognize you as the drunken-Asian-girls-who-are-probably-lightweights. Your bruise also needs ice:

(Your leg also looks fat in the picture).

23. Have a fantastic weekend despite the bruising and the potential liver problems because you celebrated with your favorite people and hell, you only turn 23 once.

Party hard, people. I think this one did :)
